Well, that was a short lived love affair. We came home from the hospital today and had a peaceful, relaxing afternoon. Then Maddie came home from daycare and it all came crashing down. Even though she says she wants to hold Bea, what she really means is that she does not want US holding Bea. And so it begins:
This behavior comes after the thoughtful little Bea gave Maddie her very own baby stroller as a “can I come into your world peacefully?” present:
Lost in all this is that Bea is such a sweet little girl. She just wants to cuddle and nurse with her Momma and hang out in the baby sling with Dad. So far she has been a great sleeper- and while we are not highly religious people, we are thanking Jesus Christ and any and all higher powers that she does not despise sleep like Maddie did (and still does) . Maybe she just has a lot of Metcalf in her. We really need the sleep because despite the ridiculous amount of cuteness she can overwhelm with us with, Maddie made it abundantly clear the last two days that she is not going to make this “adjustment period” easy. So we can use all the help we can get.
